Splitfam, we just announced your first chance to play Splitgate 2. And it’s only a week away. From August 21-25, anyone with a Steam account can head to the Splitgate 2 Steam page and register for the Alpha.

The Alpha runs for five days and is the exact same content as we’ve made playable at Gamescom. So if you’re not in Cologne, Germany next week, no sweat. And the good news is, the Alpha is totally free. Not everyone who registers gains entry, though. We’ll be monitoring our servers and slowly letting in more people throughout the week.

You can play two modes during the Alpha, the all-new Hotzone and classic Team Deathmatch (but with portals!).

Here’s everything in the Alpha:

• All three factions (Aeros, Meridian and Sabrask), with their faction-specific abilities
• Six base character skins - two per faction
• Three arena maps (Ozone, Zenith and Frontier)
• Three primary weapons per faction (not the final number of primary weapons)
• One secondary weapon per faction (not the final number of secondary weapons)
• Weapon attachments for primary and secondary weapons
• Faction-specific equipment and perks (not final)
• Game modes: Hotzone and Team Deathmatch
• RedKard anti-cheat
• Friends List with in-game party system
• Voice and Text Chat integration

To play the Alpha you’ll need a PC and a Steam account. But if you prefer a controller, that’s just fine. Any controller that Steam supports will work in the Alpha. Here are the specs you’ll need to run Splitgate 2.
