SPLITGATE 2
CODE OF CONDUCT
//
Creator & MVP Program, Code Of Conduct
Last Updated: July 11, 2024
At 1047 Games we aim to be Community First, welcoming, and inclusive. To keep our community healthy and growing, Splitgate MVPs, forum and game moderators, and individuals creating content about our games or company (collectively, “Creators” and referenced herein as “you”) are subject to this Creator and MVP code of conduct (“Creator Code of Conduct”) and all conduct and other requirements and restrictions set forth in our Terms of Service. This Creator Code of Conduct applies to your content, messaging, and behavior, including but not limited to interactions, content, and messaging within our games, social media platforms (such as YouTube, X, Instagram, Kick, TikTok, Twitch, Discord, etc.), websites, podcasts, blogs, and in-person interactions. Remember that you are a role model in the Splitgate community, and when you communicate, present content, or display our name in your channels, you must engage in professional conduct that is in-line with our values. Agreeing to and complying with this Creator Code of Conduct is a requirement to become a Creator and remain one.
Safety
Do not share your Splitgate account with anyone, as this can put your account at risk. Do not, under any circumstance, share another person’s personal information without their consent.
Impersonation
Do not impersonate any other players, celebrities, streamers, MVPs, partners, professional players, 1047 Games employees, government officials, companies, brands, or anyone that is not yourself or your company or brand. Parody accounts are also not allowed under any circumstances.
Deception, Fraud, Spam
Do not engage in spam, scam, or use other deceptive practices to trick or take advantage of others.
Discrimination, Bullying, and Harassment
At 1047 Games we do not condone any sort of discrimination or harassment of anyone. We are an inclusive community and want everyone to feel welcome. As a Creator, you are an ambassador for all players, not just select groups. It is not just 1047 Games that builds the community, you do, too. Whether it’s a handful of people or just one player at a time, use your community and influence to bring players together. Support others when they need help and help us build the community that you want to play in.
Please respect all people whether interacting with them directly or not. We don’t always understand how some actions or words can impact others. As a Creator, you represent Splitgate, 1047 Games, and the community as a whole, especially if you designate yourself as an ambassador online. There is no room in our community for hateful, violent, or discriminatory speech. Do not marginalize, demean, or belittle anyone no matter their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or for any other reason.
Do not brigade, hate raid, spam, or encourage your community to harass someone else on any platform or in-person. We want and encourage you to create and build your own followers and community. But just as you are an extension of Splitgate and 1047 Games, your community is an extension of you as a Creator. Any actions your community members take that violate our Creator Code of Conduct that you endorse or leave unresolved will be considered a violation by you.
We have a zero tolerance policy towards foul or malicious conduct towards employees. Being constructive is one thing, but there’s a difference between what is considered feedback and abusive behavior. This is inclusive of all developers and franchises across our industry. We do not want ambassadors abusing developers for any game, as again, you represent us as a brand.
Any use of your status as an MVP or other Creator cannot at any time be used as leverage to gain favor, used as intimidation or empowerment over other members of our playing community. These actions will not be tolerated.
All of the actions in this section are considered to be extreme offenses and will result in immediate removal from our program, and may lead to in-game suspension as well.
Streaming
If you’re streaming Splitgate make sure you are under the Splitgate category on the streaming platform you use. If you are streaming another game, do not stream it under the Splitgate category. Similarly, label any Splitgate videos you upload to YouTube or any other content platform as Splitgate.
Sponsored Content
You and your content must comply with all legal and regulatory disclosure requirements, including endorsement disclosures, where applicable. All sponsored content MUST be specifically disclosed to your audiences at all times. It is mandatory for all Creators and our brand to comply with FTC guidelines. Without limiting any other remedy 1047 Games has available, failure to do so will result in being asked to remove this content from your channels, or worse, copyright strikes. As non-limiting example requirements, Creators that receive financial or other benefit from us:
- must use #SplitgatePartner in all social posts related to our games or company;
- must explicitly communicate at the beginning of each video or stream that said content is sponsored; and
- must describe in your descriptions what content was sponsored and use #SplitgatePartner in the description.
Please also read the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. It is your responsibility to comply with FTC requirements and the foregoing link contain the federal government’s most up-to-date advice on how best to disclose your receipt of benefits from companies you’re talking about on social media**.**
Content falling under these disclosure requirements includes but is not limited to:
- Any content produced that may have been provided in-game by 1047 Games (drops, skins, weapons, etc.);
- Any content produced from an in-person event in which 1047 Games hosted, paid for, or required specific deliverables and/or travel;
- Content that is requested by 1047 Games for use on their own channels or paid advertising content.
Infringing Content
Do not publish or otherwise submit or distribute content that infringes copyright or trademarks, or otherwise use content or materials that belong to a third-party if you don’t have permission from that party or aren’t otherwise legally entitled to do so. You and you alone are legally responsible for your content.
Inappropriate Content and Illegal Activities
All content must follow the guidelines of any platform that you are using. Do not participate in, encourage, or make or contribute content that constitutes illegal activities within the community such as illegal drug use, doxing, swatting, etc.
Our MVPs and other Creators can take on outside brand sponsorship at their discretion, but we cannot partner with Creators who take on sponsorships that are against our franchise rating (T for Teen), therefore all sponsorships for third-parties, and the sponsored products/companies, must be appropriate for the audiences of 13 years of age or older.
Graphic and explicit content such as nudity, sexual content, or overly violent content is not allowed under any circumstances. MVPs and other Creators must remain mindful of their social presence in the form of any public social media conduct. If any sensitive material is posted or shared publicly that is in violation of this Creator Code of Conduct, or any brand guidelines we provide to you, it may hinder our ability to work closely with you or partner with you.
Threats to harm yourself or others will be taken seriously. If you come across anyone talking about this, please report them using the in-game report feature, posting a screenshot or video clip of it on the Splitgate MVP Discord, and/or email mvp@splitgate.com with a clear description of the incident.
Cheating and Exploiting
We want everyone playing Splitgate to enjoy themselves. This includes being able to play the game without running into any cheaters or hackers. If you are found to be cheating in any game, not just Splitgate, it will result in a ban and removal from the MVP program and moderator program.
Using knowledge of an in-game bug to gain an unfair advantage is considered exploiting and is also not tolerated. Please report cheaters or exploiters using the in-game report feature, posting a screenshot or video clip of it on the Splitgate MVP Discord, and/or email mvp@splitgate.com with a clear description of the incident.
Consequences
Breaking any of our Terms of Service (including this Creator Code of Conduct) will result in appropriate disciplinary action by 1047 Games, at our discretion. There is zero tolerance in cases involving threats, discrimination, game manipulation, staff abuse or areas that we may deem, our discretion, as significant brand risks. Specific reasoning may or may not be given based on the severity of the issue, or to protect the privacy of the program, staff and/or members of the program.
Without limiting any other remedies 1047 Games may have available, actions that could be taken against you may include:
- Verbal warning
- Written warning
- Total removal from the MVP Program and community platforms
- Permanent or temporary ban from the game, MVP Program, and community platforms
Communication
It is important to us that we keep a clean line of communication between both parties. For any official back-and-forth dialogue, we will be using email, our MVP channel on Discord, and at times, video/audio Town Halls. We will direct you to the best point of contact for information, but please remember that it is your responsibility to check emails and keep your email addresses up-to-date with staff. Be mindful of spam folders, and do your best to attend as many of the staff-planned events as possible, as we will try to cover as many important topics as possible during these sessions.
It is also your responsibility to let 1047 Games know of any branding or sponsorship deals that may change our relationship. We understand that sometimes branded partnerships are an integral part of content creation, and we 100% support our program ambassadors playing/partnering with other projects, but we need to be aware of these changes just in case conflicts do arise, especially if they may impact our Terms of Service or Creator Code of Conduct.
Communications related to this Creator Code of Conduct can be sent to mvp@splitgate.com. Please be mindful that staff do not work 24/7. They have weekends, and families, and program management is just one part of their duties. While we’ll do our best to communicate to open inquiries as quick as we can, please be understanding if we do not get back to you immediately. A gentle reminder never hurts, but we also can’t be on-call at all hours of the day.
Other Guidelines
- MVPs and other Creators should be role models. You should be there for other community members to look up to, and also to bring new, inexperienced individuals into the Splitgate community. You need to be a good example for what the Splitgate community should be.
- MVPs and other Creators are held to a higher standard than the general player.
- As an MVP or other Creator, you should always be the best version of yourself while representing Splitgate. Have good sportsmanship and try to stay constructive.
- Encourage constructive dialogue when possible. The aim of the program and the players in it, are to be seen as professional ambassadors and cultivate a standard of excellence. Needed feedback is welcomed, but keeping a level-headed attitude is paramount.
- If there is negative feedback to share, do it in a way that can be actioned upon, and remember that you have access to parts of the team that the general public does not.
- Where conflict cannot be avoided, do not air your grievances in a public forum (Live on stream, on public Discord channels, Twitter, etc.). Attempt to reconcile with the individual privately and professionally. If an issue can not be resolved on your own, email mvp@splitgate.com and explain the situation in detail.
- Play a fair game at all times. For example, don’t grief a game you are in by playing for the other team, for example. Do not stream snipe anyone.
- If a new player comes into your chat asking for tips, give them advice and be kind to them. Do not mock them for being worse at the game or for being new. We want to welcome in new players and show them why Splitgate is so enjoyable, not alienate them from the game.
- Be mindful that the MVP program houses a selected handful of players out of millions that play our game. To be here is a privilege, and we expect you to have an appreciation for that.
- As a Creator, all your content/conduct needs to follow the rules given by the respective platform you are using. Below you can find the Terms of Service and Community Guidelines for some of the different platforms you may be using:
- Twitch - Terms of Service, Community Guidelines
- Youtube - Terms of Service, Community Guidelines
- TikTok - Terms of Service, Community Guidelines
- Discord - Terms of Service, Community Guidelines

- MVPs and other Creators should be role models. You should be there for other community members to look up to, and also to bring new, inexperienced individuals into the Splitgate community. You need to be a good example for what the Splitgate community should be.
