One of the biggest changes between Splitgate and Splitgate 2 is the introduction of a faction system. This new class-based approach enables players to strategize before matches, by selecting from one of three factions: Aeros, Meridian, or Sabrask.

Each faction has its own strengths and playstyle, which players are free to explore and discover. Switch between factions, mix and match factions when you team up with your friends, and find the one that fits how you want to frag. You can further customize your play with several loadout options, including starting weapons, equipment, and perks.

We added this new system to enhance the Splitgate experience with new dimensions of play. Want to be fast, agile, and a portal pro, then you might find Aeros fits best. Not great at portals? No sweat - try Sabrask, a grenade-tossing, area control faction that can survive even if you use portals sparingly. And if you want to frag, but you also like dropping health for friends then Meridian's for you.

Aeros is for the classic Splitgate player or anyone who wants to be the frontline fragger on their team. If you want to run into the thick of the fight, kill quick, and kill often, Aeros is for you.

With their superior technology, Meridian Aces can heal their teammates, peer through walls, and manipulate time itself.

Meridian is more than a support class, so it can assist the whole team. This faction is built for the ultimate utility player, who wants to help, heal, and score.

The militaristic Sabrask's home planet of Mars has made them into the toughest Aces in Sol.

Sabrask mix defense with powerful offensive potential. Take control of the map with a well-placed Smart Wall and a few perfectly thrown grenades.
